Theory and Practice Driver Education, School of Proactive Driving, formerly ROADWISE DRIVER EDUCATION, provides driver education geared towards developing skills and attitudes necessary to become an intelligent and responsible driver.
We offer driver education/driving lessons in-car and in-class to residents of Victoria, Esquimalt, Saanich, Sidney, Sooke, Mill Bay, Duncan as well as online to residents of the entire province of British Columbia.
Theory and Practice Driver Education is licensed as a driving school by the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (I.C.B.C.)
Your teacher, coach, mentor holds a Master's Degree in Education, and has been licensed by I.C.B.C. as a driving instructor for over 20 years.

There are NO enrolment/administration fees in addition to regular fees for in-car, in-class, and online lessons.
In addition to the student driver, a driving instructor, only one extra person (an I.C.B.C. representative, or a student's regular supervisor) can be present in the car during a driving lesson.
Fee Schedule:
In-car, 90 minute lesson: $150.00 tax incl.
Students receive a minimum of 80 (eighty) minutes of actual driving practice during each 90 minute in-car lesson.
In-class, or online 4 hour course: $100.00 tax incl.
No cancellation fees if lessons cancelled at least one hour prior to the beginning of the lesson. If cancelled less than 1 hour before the beginning of a lesson, the cancellation fee is $50.00
Students will not receive any refunds AFTER participating in in-car or in class lessons.

Learn In-Class What You Must Know in-Car
Get Ready for Your Road Test
$100.00, 4 hour course
Knowledge related to driving is necessary for you before you start your in-car learning.
The course delivers a comprehensive 4 hour review of knowledge necessary to share the road safely. Whether you are preparing for your knowledge test, whether you are an L, N, or a class 5 driver or a driver supervisor, this course will be for you.
The course is offered in person every Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 PM

The course covers ICBC Learn to Drive Smart, Tuning Up for Drivers, BC Motor Vehicle Act, and has been designed to provide knowledge necessary to become a safe driver and to pass the ICBC road test easily and with confidence. The course will include:
-Attention, situational awareness while driving, sensory perception and decision making while driving
-Driver's License, your privilege, not your right
-Sharing the road with other road users in a safe and responsible way
- Avoiding distractions and impairments while driving
-Procedures (formulas) for:
driving through and turning at intersections,
-Understanding of traffic devices, traffic signs, signals, pavement markings,
-Rules of the road,
-Questions and answers
